When I received an email inviting me to Los Angeles for an assignment, I could not contain my excitement. I never been to the US, even though I had the biggest American dream and my list of places to visit was super long, starting with California (continuing with cities like New York, Boston, Seattle and many more).
My visit was super short (less than 4 days), however it was enough to experience great food and immerse myself in the Californian atmosphere, i.e. soak up the sunshine.
I stayed in a beautiful Airbnb loft in the super vibrant and colourful Arts District in Los Angeles, where you can find the coolest cafes and see some amazing street art, if you can avoid the weary looks people give you when they see you walking- here everyone drives or takes Uber. I was determined to walk around and even braved the long (?) walk to City Hall, in Downtown L.A.
This is where I lived for a few days, swimming pool included:
I loved walking around the Arts District and Downtown, where I went up to the City Hall Observation Deck. One thing I missed out on was The Broad, tickets were sold out and when I joined the stand-by queue the wait was over 2 hours, so I went to the LACMA instead.
A visit to a L.A. is not complete without seeing the ocean, so a walk along Venice Beach and some window shopping in Abbot Kinney was just the perfect afternoon.
Below, my L.A. experience in photos.
